Explanation of the Mail Server Test Center Anti-Spam Test
There seems to be some confusion about how the Anti-Spam Tests currently work in the Mail Server Test Center. Users seem to think that when they run the tests, they should not be receiving our test emails because they are spam. This is incorrect. If you use the tests, you WILL receive the test message that is sent to you. This is because your antispam solution is more than likely using attributes with a negative weight to known IPs with a good reputation and this is what we currently test for. In the case of the MSTC Anti-Spam test emails, the originating IP is that of dnsstuff.com, which is a good IP of course. There is no need to make any changes on your current system when you receive the emails from us. When you receive the emails, it is just verifying that your antispam solution recognizes good IPs and that is a good thing because it shows that false-positives will be reduced.

We are aware that our email states "This email message contains a forged received header with a blacklisted IP Address." but that is incorrect and we will be changing that as soon as possible. In our next version of the MSTC which we will releasing early next year (2011), you will have the ability to send actual spammy emails to your server to test your antispam program's ability to recognize and block spam.
